No. The MLB The Show Companion App has no code redemption field. MLB The Show 26 codes are entered at codes.theshow.com in a web browser, signed in to an MLB The Show account that has a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account linked to it. Each code redeems once per account, and the rewards arrive in your Diamond Dynasty inventory, where the app can then open the packs. You can redeem on your phone. You cannot redeem inside the app.

What the Companion App is built to do

Sony's own page for the app lists its jobs: watch Community Marketplace transactions, search cards, create orders, manage your watchlist, view card details, and follow news, game updates, roster updates, and live content. It pushes notifications when a market order updates or a friend pulls a Diamond. The Google Play listing, last updated August 28, 2026, adds squad management (lineup, Captains, batting order, rotation), Face Scan for creating your Ballplayer, XP Reward Path and Team Affinity progress tracking, and adding items to Collections and Exchanges.

Redemption appears on none of those lists.

The FAQ on theshow.com/companion-app answers exactly three questions. Do you need to own the game? Yes, and the app supports six editions, MLB The Show 21 through 26, with no plans to support older titles. What are the minimum operating system requirements? Android 11 or iOS 12. Can you purchase Stubs through the app? No.

That third answer is the interesting one. Sony took the trouble to write an explicit "no" for one commerce function and stayed silent on codes, which is what silence usually means on a spec sheet.

Worth flagging while you are checking specs: the US App Store listing for the Companion App, published by PlayStation Mobile Inc., states "Requires iOS 16 or later." Sony's own page still says iOS 12. Two official sources, four major versions apart. Trust the store listing, since that is the one that decides whether the install button works.

On the support side, the San Diego Studio help center has a dedicated Companion App section for MLB The Show 26. It contains one article: "Missing Packs in the MLB The Show Companion App," updated March 5, 2026. Not one line in it concerns entering a code.

Why players keep looking for codes in the app

Because the app opens packs. That missing-packs article says so directly: if the app closed while you were mid-pack and the contents had not been displayed or locked in, the pack will be waiting for you in-game on console. Pack opening is the visible, satisfying end of the reward pipeline, and it lives on your phone. Reaching for the other end of the same pipeline in the same place is a reasonable instinct.

The word "code" is also doing three different jobs across this game, which nobody warns you about:

1. A promotional code such as CR-CYCLE, redeemed on the web for Diamond Dynasty packs.
2. A platform voucher code, redeemed in the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop for the game itself or for store credit.
3. An account-linking code, which the game generates on your console and which you type into a box on the MLB The Show website to link that console.

Two of those three are typed into a browser. One is typed into a console store. None is typed into the Companion App. If you have been hunting a redeem button in the app and finding nothing, your search was correct and the button does not exist.

Where MLB The Show 26 codes actually get redeemed

At codes.theshow.com. The page is spare: a heading that reads "Redeem your code for MLB The Show," a single field labeled Redeem Code, and a Submit button. I pulled the page source. That field is one plain text input named `code`, styled to uppercase what you type, with no length attribute and no segmented character boxes. The form imposes no fixed code length because Show codes do not have one.

The eight MLB The Show 26 codes logged by trackers this cycle run from six to thirteen characters: JOMBOY at six, LOCKEDON and CR-CYCLE at eight, CR-10PACK and CR-PICKLE at nine, CR-BATTERY at ten, CR-SOUTHPAW at eleven, CR-WHEELHOUSE at thirteen. As of September 2026, code trackers list two as still live, CR-CYCLE for a 20 Show Pack bundle and CR-10PACK for ten Show Packs, with the other six expired. Each code works once per account.

Codes are also rare. MLB The Show 24 produced six across its entire cycle, and releases cluster around livestreams and content drops.

A Show code and a store voucher are different objects

The searches around this topic blur free packs, platform codes, and discounts into one category. They are four distinct instruments with different lengths, different homes, and different consequences if you misfire.

Those figures come from the platform holders. PlayStation Support states that "PlayStation Store voucher codes contain 12 digits," and adds that a 10-digit code is a discount code with its own redemption path. Xbox Support gives the 25-character format and warns that a redeemed code cannot be moved to another Microsoft account. The 16-character figure for Switch comes from San Diego Studio's own Nintendo Switch voucher article, matching Nintendo's published instructions.

Two platform-specific traps that catch people. Xbox codes cannot be redeemed in the Xbox mobile app. And Nintendo disables lookalike characters on the eShop keyboard, so if you are staring at a code trying to decide between B and 8, the keyboard has already decided for you.

The consequential difference is where the reward attaches. A store voucher attaches to a platform account and stays there. A Show promo code attaches to your MLB The Show account and travels with cross-progression, which is why the same code works whether you play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Switch.

Link your consoles before you redeem anything

Here is where allowed and advisable stop agreeing.

San Diego Studio's article on edition rewards contains a sentence most players never read: "It is advised you link your accounts before redeeming any rewards." The reason sits one line above it. If you redeem pre-order rewards on different consoles before linking, you will only be able to use the set redeemed into your primary account. The other set is stranded.

Your MLB The Show account holds four rows at account.theshow.com: The Show itself, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. Three console platforms, one account. All three are allowed. What is not advisable is treating them as interchangeable, for three documented reasons.

Only one console's progress carries into cross-progression, and San Diego Studio warns that selecting the wrong account while linking can cost you Stubs, cards, and overall progress. Stubs purchased in The Show Shop stay locked to the console that bought them; Sony's MLB The Show 26 FAQ confirms Stubs bought on one platform cannot be used on another. And PlayStation users face the Console Exclusivity Error, documented and updated on March 5, 2026: once you have linked an MLB The Show account to a PlayStation profile, you will be unable to link it to a different console account later.

That last one is a one-way move. Detachable blades exist precisely so you are not stuck with the first decision you made, and account linking on PlayStation is the opposite arrangement.

Timing mattered for edition rewards specifically. MLB The Show 26 launched March 17, 2026. Standard Edition pre-orders opened February 3 at 9 AM Pacific, and early access began Friday, March 13 at 12 AM Eastern for Digital Deluxe buyers. The 10 percent returning-player discount that cut Digital Deluxe from $99.99 to $89.99 closed with the pre-order window at launch on March 17. Digital pre-orders redeem automatically once installation finishes. Physical copies carry a printed code in the case, and that code goes into your console's store, not into codes.theshow.com.

What to do when the rewards do not appear

Promo code rewards land in the Diamond Dynasty inventory, and code trackers describe them as arriving immediately. Restarting the game surfaces them if they do not appear at once.

I read all 115 articles San Diego Studio publishes in its help center looking for a stated delivery window. There is exactly one, and it is for Twitch Drops: "it may take 24-48 hours for earned Twitch Drops to appear after they've been claimed," updated March 6, 2026. Claimed drops arrive in the Packs section within Diamond Dynasty. Do not apply that window to promo codes, because Sony has not; it is the only published wait time in the entire library, and it belongs to a different reward path.

Leaderboard rewards have their own quirk. After leaderboards finalize, you have to back out of Diamond Dynasty and re-enter before the rewards will appear.

If a pack vanished mid-open in the Companion App, check console first. Sony's position is that the pack will be there. If it is not, or a card has gone missing, submit an Account Issue ticket with specifics: player name, overall, card series.

The support portal offers five ticket types, and only one of them is yours: Account Issue, Submit Feedback, Report a Player, Delete Account, Delete Face Scan Data. The Account Issue form asks for your email, which year of MLB The Show, your PlayStation ID, Xbox ID, MLB The Show username for Switch, or Show Account ID, your console platform, and the area of the game affected.

On response time, I have nothing to give you, because Sony publishes nothing. No business-day figure appears anywhere in the help center or on the ticket form. The two commitments San Diego Studio does make are qualitative: for account issues, an agent will contact you by email; for bug reports, the studio states it will only contact you if further information is required. Plan for the second one to mean silence.
